Alright, so as you can all tell, or at least anyone who still has the faint hope of seeing a new post so you occasionally come back, that I have lied.  I did not post near halloween, but with good cause.  My friend and I have begun work on our own website.  I will state when it comes up.

I know that this first topic isn’t really about media, but anyone who liked the matrix, sci-fi, and supreme randomness should read the book Snowcrash.  It is possibly one of the best books I have read in a long time.

In a nutshell, the book is about a man named Hiro Protagonist (no, I’m not kidding) who is a pizza delivery man in reality, and a samurai prince in a virtual world called the metaverse.  He eventually finds out about a virus which is killing people in the metaverse and reality, and has perform the cliche act of saving everyone. Also, the pizza delivery service is run by the maffia.

In other news, the new Silent Hill game will most probably be unavailable in Australia.  If you live in Australia: YOU CAN OFFICIALLY PROCLAIM THAT YOUR COUNTRY HAS GONE INSANE.  THEY SHOULD DO WHAT SEVERAL IDIOTS DO, AND LICK RAT TESTICLES DIPPED IN VINEGAR BECAUSE THEY ARE SO FUCKIN INSANE.  Why?  because your government has refused to give Silent Hill and ESRB rating.  Any game without an ESRB rating can’t be sold in stores there.  Its not so much your country’s fault as it is your government’s.

Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t be talking about the following topic, but I recieved a request from a friend (who doesn’t live in the basement I live in.  I do own a phone you know.), to dedicate part of my post to Street Fighter.  So I will.

STREET FIGHTER

Yes this game has been around for over a decade, and is still pumpin blood, despite that this blood is now pumped through a pacemaker.

This oldy but a goody has recently come out with yet another addition to the series, streetfighter 4.  and after 10 years, they finally decided to take the series to 3D!!!! Most people won’t appreciate this new art style, but being a street fighter die-hard fan, I think I’ll still enjoy it.  But then again, anyone whos ever taken a liking to side scrolling fighter will always find at least one street fighter game they like.  Why? BECAUSE THERE ARE SOOOOOOOOOO FUCKING MANY!

Heroes Season 3 Premiere

HOLY *(W#$%#$@&Y# ^$#&#$^& #%^^*&$^&*   @%$^@#%^$%  THAT EPISODE WAS GREAT.  I’m not really afraid of swearing, but I feel that symbols leave a longer lasting impression.

Good day readers, and as suspected from the title, I will be speaking to you about the new Heroes episodes.  They were awesome.

At last, there was an improvement from the 2nd season.  It follows a similar formula to the first season, which is joke around a bit, then get serious, then leave with a cliffhanger.

For those who missed it, I’ll give a quick summary of its events:

-Hiro sees future fucked up again

-Sylar gets Claire’s powers

-Peter from future is the one who shot Nathan, and shoves real peter and the fat mind -reading cop somewher else

-Nathan believes in god

-there is a Niki look alike

-Mohinder gets powers, but something wierd is happening to him.

Once again, good day followers. This should have been the third time last week I’d have been posting, simply because last week had been such a good week for all types of media. And no, I do not give half a shit about the promises I made at the beginning as per how many posts I would give.   However, in light of this being the third one this week, (or at least it should have been), I will keep it short.

Today , I will be concentrating on the new house episode.

OMFG THIS WAS FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The new house episode had all the twists it should have, and almost reached through my rocky exterior and extreme beauty to reach and touch my heart. Almost. But it didn’t. Just like everything else in life.

The ending howevr, did make me stand up, scream, and then throw my remote at the wall.  (I would’ve thrown it at the t.v., but it’s a pretty nice t.v., and I wouldn’t want to break it).

I would give a summary of what happened in it, but I’m afraid of giving away too much information for those of you who haven’t sseen it yet. If you’ve already seen it, then you won’t need a summary anyways.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Review

Hello followers! Seeing from my half-assed review a few weeks ago, and the magic of blog stats, I can tell that several of my followers, such as you, are obsessed over the new star wars game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. I’m here to tell you, that you should be.

Before I deliver this review, please note that I simply have a PS2, not one of the crappy new systems. However, this review will still most probably apply to all you PS3tards, Xbox3shitters, and Nintendorks (Names referenced from Pure Pwnage).

THE GAME IS AMORE THAN JUST A GAME!!! IT IS A LIFE STYLE!!! But seriously, this game is fun. I stand by my words before, when saying that life isn’t complete before one force throw a guy into a ship, or even punts a jawa. Yes, no mistake there, you can PUNT a LIVING THING.

The engine use in the game is excellent. Its physics engine is set up so that there will be an infinite amount of reactions for anything in the game. When lifting a storm trooper near another, he may even grab onto him for dear life, when all it really does, is help you kill two of them instead of one.

Of course, the graphics are relatively good, although the cut-scenes on the PS2 and Wii could have been made with better quality than regular game play. Still, graphics hardly matter, when one has the ability to punt people.

But no game is minus faults, and Star wars TFU has its share. On the Wii, eventually the arm motions boils down to wiggling around a remote, which defeats the purpose of making it unique. I haven’t experienced this personally, but according to game spot there is a glitch during an epic battle with a rancor, in which the player becomes frozen.

Aside from these minor flaws however, you will have an amazing experience playing this game. It gives the experience of playing “the bad guy,” is extremely fun, and has a compelling story which I can’t explain without giving too much away, or stating something you already knew.

Although many may beg to differ, I personally (being a Star Wars fan) would give this game an 8.9/10.

old but good games

Hey followers.  I got bored recently, so I’ve decided to dig up a few games from the good old days which are still amazing.  What’s even more amazing, is the fact that I became so bored, to the extent that I’ve decided to write a blog about it.

First on the list is Warcraft 3.  Of course, people who play this game would hat me for calling it old, but it’s true; it was made about 5 years ago, and is still popular.  Although there are (in my opinion) better games, some older (Starcraft), and some newer (Warhammer 40000), this game has such a large fan base that online and single player still remains amazingly fresh after so long.

If one goes online, they will find many people to play with. The units are diverse and interesting, the heroes are great for leading, the story is compelling, and the graphics are quite resilent.

Next up is the oh-so-great Metal Gear Solid, also known as MGS.  Of course, since i have to keep all these game review out of the year 2008, I can’t include mgs 4 and review it in this post. Either way, the series is still freaking awesome.

The MGS series stars 3 main characters, when it  really indirectly revolves mostly around the main-main character, Solid Snake.  I personally don’t want to ruin the story for those who may wish to start the series or continue it, due to how it is possibly one of the best war stories I’ve ever had told to me in my life.  The graphics qualities increase with each game released.

Am I the only one who noticed that Solid Snake lacks a face in this version?

Out of all 3, I’d have to say mgs 3 is my favourite, not because of the MUCH better graphics, but because of the amazing story and gameplay.

Next up is the Star Wars: Battlefronts 1 and 2.  Possibly my favourite star wars games, simply because rather than trying to emulate what it would be like to lead the glorious life of a jedi, it shows what it would have been like to be one of the soldiers.  Obviously, the online mode is possibly one of the best ones.

Another cool part of battlefront 2 was the space battles.  Not only was losing all control of ones ship and flying upside down amazingly entertaining, but it was also fun to land in the enemy hangar and screw around in their base.

The gameplay varies for those who wish to play first person and for those who wish to play third person.  Also, if you don’t intend on playing as a soldier the whole time, in battlefront 2, heroes are also involved, which dominate the field, but also have a time limit to keep the fairness.

The second last series of games I’ll be showing is the great Soul Calibur 2 and 3.  Personally, my favourite fact was that while all other characters wore a shit-load of armouur, the great samurai Mitsurugi wore a bathrobe.  I used him all the time.

Final on my list, is Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3.  Although I have no idea wtf a Budokai is, its still an amazing looking game, which truly captures the DBZ spirit.  The beams look better than they did in the show, the cell shading is great, the game has almost no lag, loads fast, and the gameplay is fast-paced.  Just as it should be.

A bit of Everything

Good day followers.  Reading this post, you are either fairly relived that I’ve finally written, or extremely pissed that I havn’t written for such a long time.  As a result  i will incorporate several categories into today’s post so no one will come to my house with a pitchfork followed by a mob doing the same. If you are reading this at the current moment, please note that this is not the full blog, however, I am working on the full thing as you read.

The first  thing on my list to piss you guys off with the fact that I know what happens in the new ep of heroes.  I of course have only seen the first few minutes of it, but my friend as seen the entire 2 hours of season 3 ep 1, and has given me a full and exremely detailed summary of it.  Of course, I won’t put anything that would kill the story for anyone, but, it was much better than the entire second season, and the first.

Next up, is video gaming.  Of course, I could speak of this for hours, (due to my unlimited knowledge of the world outside of my basement despite living in my basement) but instead I’ll try to limit all the info to a few paragraphs. First on the list, is star wars force unleashed.  After trying the demo on my friend’s Xbox (he brought it to my basement) I found that it was simply amazing.  The graphics are insanely good, and I also found that life simply isn’t complete until you throw random guys around without touching them.

Not sure if one would consider this filed under video games, but the new Pure Pwnage episodes have finally come out, after waiting for them all summer.I must say, that these episodes were possibly the funniest ever out.  After the let- down of ep 16, ep 17 and 18 brought back the same oblivious gamer we all know and love, rather than someone who’s relatively normal – minus a social life like he was for a full episode.

Finally, I’ve recently tried out the new free MMO “perfect world,” and wasn’t let down.  it’s no WoW, but it’s entertaining, and kills time.

Since it is the end of almost everyone’s glorioius summer, I think I’ll make some people even more miserable by stating the wonderful movies that came out during it, Giving extremely half-baked reviews about all of them, and then sit on my chair and laugh because people will soon be too busy to watch anything (losers).

Dark knight: Great movie.  Joker was awesome, possibly best antagonist ever, plot was good, and room was left for a third sequel.

(no, I will not obsess over Heath Ledger)

Iron Man: Also a Great movie.  Lighthearted, as a movie should be, funny, great actors (Downey Jr. was hilarious)

Hancock: disappointing, but entertaining.  It was funny at parts, and exciting, but there wasn’t even an antagonist, and felt more like and intro rather than a full movie.

Tropic thunder: Hilarious.  I can’t explain all the reason’s why, because if I did, this review wouldn’t be as half-baked.

Pineapple Express: It was Okay, but stupid.  As oppose to Tropic thunder, which was genuinely funny, this was simply stupid funny.

As promised my subliminally controlled followers… I mean friends… After roughly one week, I have made my first update to my blog.  Since I really have no idea where in the world the reader is reading this from, there is a large possibility that this blog may not apply to you.  There is also a large possibility that I do not care.  As you can tell from this week’s title, I will be concentrating on what I will normally speak of in terms of video games.

Also, as a forewarning, most games I speak of will either be for the computer or the classic good old playstation 2.  The reason? The xbox 360 has outrageously large controllers, a payment for online, and a crappy looking media bar.  It’s a freaking file folder.

I also dislike the wii because of several reasons, however, due to the risk of this page being censored, I won’t be able to say them all.  One of the main issues however, are that not many games have been made which push the limits of the wii controller.  For example, a good sword game, in which the sword goes exactly where ever the controller goes, instead of set moves.  Although there are such games, they still suck, mainly because of the crappy graphics which practically look worse than a playstation 2′s graphics.  It is however, a great system for parties.

I have nothing agaqinst the playstation 3, mainly because it has good games despite popular belief, free online, wifi, blu-ray, and a great media bar.  However, since I still haven’t bought one, I will say I dislike it simply to give all readers more reason to hate me.

Now that I’ve finished my obscenely long introduction of two posts, I will attempt to make my next post about some actual material rather than another tedious introduction.

The day of judgment as per who will survive the onslaught has arrived, for unfortunately, I have somehow discovered and become interested with the use of blogs.

Unlike many blogs in existence, this blog will try to stray away from the things that make people un-interested in other blogs.  This blog will focus on things that people are afraid to talk to their friends about without being called a nerd, mainly anime, movies, television, comics (marvel mostly), and video games. I will attempt to update my blog once a week.
